Treat your class to an experience that they will never forget and inspire their scientific curiosity at Discovery.

To assist Victorian teachers with planning class visits, Discovery has now detailed its exhibits and attractions in accordance to the science strand of the Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS.)

Discovery programs address both Discipline-based and Interdisciplinary Learning Strands of the VELS and can be tailored to meet any of the learning dimensions within the Humanities, Mathematics, Science, Communication, Design, Creativity and Technology, Thinking and Personal Learning Domains.

Each school visit includes an introductory discussion with one of our Education Officers.

Allow your students to understand more about the phenomenon that is science by exploring the 100 plus exhibits and examining scientific principals and theories through puzzles, riddles, experiments, physical challenges, illusions and interactive displays.

Students will become immersed in the world above at the Bendigo Planetarium as they learn about astronomy in an environment that is fun and inviting, and they can experience the effects of gravity by plummeting down our Vertical Slide.

In The Lab students can throw on a lab coat and become genuine scientists exploring the phenomena of chemistry, biology and engineering. The Lab offers school groups the opportunity to engage in amusing hands-on science experiments using real lab equipment and facilities that schools may not be able to provide themselves.
